
Dr. Benjamin M. Jacobs directs the graduate programs in Israel Education and is co-director of The Collaboratory: A Center for Jewish Education at the George Washington University. He has spent most of his professional career preparing social studies teachers and Jewish educators for school and non-school settings, and consulting with various Jewish education agencies (including The iCenter, the Jewish Agency for Israel, Taglit-Birthright Israel, and M2) on curriculum, teaching, and research. Ben co-chairs the advisory board of the Collaborative for Applied Studies in Jewish Education (CASJE) and the education committee for RootOne. Along with his longtime collaborator Dr. Barry Chazan, Ben created the widely adapted curriculum model, The 18×18 Framework: 18 Jewish Things a Young Jew Should Know, Care About, and Be Able to do by Age 18.
