Join us for our new monthly Open Hour—a space born from conversations across our educator community. Each session begins with a quick, 10-minute pulse on the month’s highlights from the field, followed by open conversation, questions, and shared learning.
This month’s workshop will be hosted by Max Pivo, The iCenter’s Manager of Partnerships. We invite you to bring an idea, a challenge, or simply listen in. Stay for ten minutes or the full hour—a space to think, share, and recharge together.
CREATE WITH IRA GINZBURG: ART, STORY, AND CONNECTION
You’ve seen Ira’s vibrant designs on our website, materials, and at gatherings—now meet the artist herself. Join us for a hands-on creative session where Ira will share her process, explore some of her iconic images, and guide you through an adaptable and interactive exercise, learning to translate images into words and words into images. No artistic experience required!
Ira Ginzburg is the founder and creative director of IG Studio, a multidisciplinary art and design agency centered on people, partnering with leading institutions and organizations across Israel and the U.S.
Join Conflicts of Interest faculty Max Pivo and Or Shemer for an hour-long conversation designed for educators seeking to process and respond to this evolving moment. Together, we’ll explore the questions so many of us are holding: What are the questions we’re grappling with? How do we teach and learn as events continue to unfold?
This is an opportunity to look to one another for support, recognition, and inspiration as we navigate how to show up for our learners—and for ourselves. Bring your own questions, thoughts, and experiences to enrich our shared conversation.
Continue exploring the past year in Israel through the voices and experiences captured by Mishy Harman, host of the beloved podcast Israel Story. Together, we’ll hear personal accounts that reveal the complexities, hopes, and challenges of life in Israel, and reflect on how storytelling can open space for connection, understanding, and healing.
Go behind the scenes of Pulse of Israel, The iCenter’s signature curricular resource that helps educators bring Israel’s current conversations into the classroom. This session will walk you through its thematic modules—covering topics from democracy to societal tensions—and share how to use them to spark curiosity, critical thinking, and connection.
Join us for a thoughtful visual journey through the highs and lows of the past year in Israel with Dana Wohlfeiler-Lalkin, founder of Local Testimony, an annual exhibit of outstanding photographs by Israel’s leading photojournalists. We’ll uncover the stories behind the images, the conversations they spark, and the unique educational opportunities they create.
As part of The iCenter’s Pro Seminar series, we’ll examine the significance of moral clarity when facing complex ethical dilemmas, strategies to cultivate moral courage, and valuable insights that can shape our perspectives and decision-making amidst today’s crisis.
